Bodies built of bodybuilding materials can sometimes be more effective than those made of ordinary substances, a new study shows.
But some experts say that homeopathic remedies, which contain natural ingredients and are not subject to the usual regulatory restrictions, could have an unwanted side effect.
Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine found that when people were given homeopathic products they tended to feel less well, and had less energy and strength.
But the researchers said they were unable to determine the specific cause of the difference.
Homeopathic remedies are believed to help with chronic illness and pain, and are used in more than 70 countries.
But it is not known whether the results are related to the type of product.
The study is published online in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine.
